गुजरात: पाटन में दलित छात्र को पेड़ से बांधकर पीटा

गुजरात के पाटन जिले की चाणस्मा तालुका में एक 17 वर्षीय दलित युवक को पेड़ से बांधकर पीटने का मामला सामने आया है.

इंडियन एक्सप्रेस की खबर के अनुसार 12वीं कक्षा में पढ़ने वाले इस युवक को 18 मार्च को दो लोगों ने चाणस्मा के गोराड गांव में पेड़ से बांधकर उसके साथ मारपीट की.

चाणस्मा में दर्ज एफआईआर के अनुसार मेहसाणा का रहने वाला का नितिन (परिवर्तित नाम) 18 मार्च को अपनी 12वीं की बोर्ड परीक्षा देने गया था, जब यह घटना हुई. वह अब मेहसाणा के सिविल अस्पताल में भर्ती है.

एफआईआर के मुताबिक उसने बताया, ‘मैं अपने घर मेहसाणा से परीक्षा देने के लिए करीब 1 बजे धिनोज गांव के सार्वजनिक विद्या मंदिर हाईस्कूल पहुंचा, जो मेरा परीक्षा सेंटर था. मैं जब बाहर इंतजार कर रहा था तब रमेश पटेल मेरे पास आया. वो राज्य परिवहन में बस कंडक्टर है और मैं उसे केवल शक्ल से पहचानता हूं. उसने मुझे कहा कि उसे मुझसे काम है और साथ आने को कहा. वो मुझे एक और व्यक्ति के पास ले गया जो मोटरसाइकिल पर हमारा इंतज़ार कर रहा था. वो दोनों मुझे पास के गोराड गांव के एक खेत में ले गए.’

रास्ते में जब नितिन ने अपनी परीक्षा के बारे में कहा तब दोनों ने कहा कि वे उसे पेपर शुरू होने से पहले सेंटर पर छोड़ देंगे. नितिन की मां ने इंडियन एक्सप्रेस को बताया, ‘उन्होंने उसे पेड़ से बांधा और फिर छड़ी से मारा. जब उसने उसे मारने की वजह पूछी तब उन्होंने उसे गाली देते हुए कहा कि उसे पढ़ाई-लिखाई, परीक्षा छोड़कर मजदूरी करनी चाहिए.’

इस घटना के बाद नितिन ने परीक्षा नहीं दी और चुपचाप घर लौट आया और किसी को इस घटना के बारे में कुछ नहीं बताया. बुधवार को नहाते समय जब उसकी मां ने उनकी पीठ पर निशान देखे तब उनके पूछने पर नितिन ने इस बारे में बताया.

इसके बाद उसे मेहसाणा के सिविल अस्पताल ले जाया गया और भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 323, 341, 504, 506 (2) और 114 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया. मामले में अब तक कोई गिरफ़्तारी नहीं हुई है.

नितिन की मां मेहसाणा की एक प्लाईवुड फैक्ट्री में काम करती हैं और पिता एक सड़क दुर्घटना के बाद हुए ऑपरेशन के चलते बिस्तर पर हैं.

इस बीच मारपीट की वजह नितिन के एक सवर्ण लड़की से प्रेम को भी बताया जा रहा है. हालांकि नितिन की मां ने इससे साफ़ इनकार किया है. उन्होंने इंडियन एक्सप्रेस को बताया, ‘ऐसा मेरे बेटे को बदनाम करने के लिए कहा जा रहा है जिससे उसे कोई हमदर्दी न मिले. यह गलत है.’

पाटन के एससी-एसटी सेल के इंचार्ज डिप्टी एसपी आरपी ज़ाला ने बताया कि मामले की जांच चल रही है. उन्होंने बताया, ‘क्योंकि हमारे पास आरोपी बस कंडक्टर, जिसे पीड़ित केवल शक्ल से जानता है, का पूरा नाम और जानकारी नहीं है, इसलिए अब तक कोई तक कोई गिरफ़्तारी नहीं हुई है. हम उसकी जानकारी मिलने और उचित कार्रवाई की उम्मीद है.’
